Dental Veneers

Dental veneers remains a very popular procedure for restoring a smile. A dental veneer is a thin shell made of porcelain or plastic that fit over the front of your teeth. If you have crooked or discolored teeth or big, noticeable gaps, veneers can change the color or shape of your smile. We may either recommend a single veneer to restore a tooth that has been fractured or several veneers to create a “Hollywood” smile. Veneers are also very popular because they can be placed with little or no anesthesia, and once they’re placed, the veneers typically stay in place and retain their color longer than dental bonding.

For your first veneer placement visit, we will buff the front of your teeth to create space for the thickness of the veneer. A mold is then taken from which the veneers will be made. When you come back for a second appointment, the veneers will be placed on your teeth to check their fit and color, and any adjustments will be made. Then, your teeth are treated to prep them for bonding and the veneers are cemented into place.

After you have veneers placed, you brush and floss normally and visit the dentist for regular checkups. Veneers can last five to ten years with proper oral care. If a near-perfect smile has always been just out of reach for you, dental veneers can be the answer you’re looking for.
